Installation

A proper installation will ensure your windows and doors work properly for years to come.

For every installation, we assist with basic preparation as needed, including the careful removal or relocation of furniture and blinds, and clearing access to work areas prior to installation. Protective measures are used throughout the process, including drop cloths and coverings to help maintain a clean, dust-controlled environment inside your home.

Our installation standard includes a consistent 1/2″ clearance around the entire window between the frame and the rough opening to allow for proper insulation and long-term performance. The cavity is insulated using low-expansion spray foam around the frame perimeter for air sealing, combined with batt insulation within the jamb cavity to fully fill the remaining depth without placing pressure on the frame. A vapour-permeable red sealing tape is applied from jamb to drywall to ensure a continuous air and moisture barrier. All exterior seams are professionally caulked, with no visible fasteners.

Exterior finishing is completed based on the building envelope. For vinyl siding, white J-trim is used for a clean finish. For masonry or alternative cladding, colour-matched exterior caulking is applied for a seamless, weather-resistant result.

For renovation projects, we recommend full-frame window replacement, removing the existing unit back to the original rough opening. This approach ensures proper sealing, improved insulation performance, and maximum glass area. It also allows any hidden issues such as rot or water damage to be identified and repaired once the old unit is removed.

For heritage or character homes, insert-style (box unit) installations are available where preserving interior woodwork is preferred. In some cases, we can also complete the exterior in PVC for a clean, durable finish. All removed materials are disposed of, and the work area is thoroughly cleaned inside and out.

Interior finishing options include snap-on PVC casing and rosettes for easy removal and reinstallation, making painting and maintenance simple. We also offer traditional mitered casing in white or stained finishes, as well as flat vinyl-wrapped casing options depending on preference.

We dispose of all items removed, and clean the site both inside and out.
